1 Dead In Early Morning Residential Fire In Waterbury: FD

A second occupant was able to escape without injury, according to the fire department.

WATERBURY, CT — A man was killed in a fire Tuesday morning on Mark Lane, according to the fire department.

Capt. Edward Partridge said firefighters were summoned to 100 Mark Lane, Building G shortly after 6 a.m.

When they arrived, firefighters found heavy fire coming from the front door and window of the residence, according to Partridge.

Firefighters immediately began dousing the blaze. While searching the first floor of the home, they found an adult male who was deceased. Fire officials did not release the victim’s name as of Tuesday.

A female resident was able to escape prior to the arrival of firefighters, according to Partridge.

No one else was injured during the incident.

The Waterbury Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
