2 Brawls At Waterbury School Result In 16 Student Arrests: PD
The fights happened on Wednesday and Thursday, according to police.
WATERBURY, CT — Several students face charges after two separate fights erupted at John F. Kennedy High School over a two-day period.
The first fight happened Wednesday, and resulted in 11 student arrests.
The school resource officer was notified that the fight had erupted around 11:53 a.m. Wednesday.

Additional police officers went to the school to help break up the fight and separate the students, according to Lt. Ryan Bessette.
Police arrested 11 juvenile students, including nine males and two females, for Wednesday’s fight. The youths face various charges, such as third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with an officer, police said.

Police said several students suffered minor injuries during the Wednesday altercation. They were treated by the school nurse and didn’t require additional medical attention, according to Bessette.
On Thursday, around noon, another physical altercation involving a group of students erupted at the same school, police said.
Again, police rushed to the scene to help separate the students involved. There were no injuries in this second fight, police said.
The Thursday incident resulted in the arrests of five juvenile students, including one female and four males. Charges were pending as of Thursday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday’s altercation is believed to be connected to the fight on Wednesday, police said.
All of the youths involved are students at Kennedy High, police said.
