2 Accused Of Animal Cruelty In Waterbury: PD
Two people were living in a storage trailer with several animals, both alive and deceased, according to police.
WATERBURY, CT — Two city residents are facing animal cruelty charges after they were found living in a trailer with live and dead animals, police said.
Courtney Beardsley, 26, and Johann Delgado-Lopez, 37, were each charged Tuesday with 31 counts of cruelty to animals.
Police received an anonymous complaint about a woman living in a trailer with “a large number” of live and dead animals, according to Officer Nyjah Porcher.

Police went to investigate at 770 West Main St. around 4:51 p.m. on Tuesday. The address is Storage Rentals of America, a self-storage company.
Officers and Animal Control discovered the animals, including cats and dogs, in a trailer where Beardsley and Delgado-Lopez were living, police said.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
Delgado-Lopez had an initial court appearance this week, but he has not yet entered any plea. He is free on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 14, state Judicial Branch records show.
