2 Injured In Waterbury Crash Involving Pickup Truck, 2 Motorcycles: PD

The truck's operator fled the scene after the collision, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — Two people were injured when a pickup truck and two motorcycles collided Thursday evening in Waterbury.

Police Lt. Ryan Bessette said the accident happened around 6:21 p.m. in the area of South Main Street and Platts Mill Road.

The operator of the pickup truck, who was not injured, fled the scene, but officers located the vehicle shortly afterward, according to police.

One of the two motorcycles had one rider, and that individual was not injured either.

The second motorcycle had a male operator and a female passenger, who were both injured and taken to area hospitals, police said. The male operator sustained serious injuries, and is in stable condition as of Friday morning. The female passenger’s injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

The Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident. As of early Friday, no one had been cited as being at fault.
