3 Dogs Transferred From Naugatuck Animal Control Due To High Call, Intake Rate
Three dogs were recently transferred from Naugatuck Animal Control due to a high call and intake rate at their shelter.
NAUGATUCK, CT — Three dogs were recently transferred from Naugatuck Animal Control to other area shelters due to a high call and intake rate at their shelter, according to the facility.
In a Facebook post Monday, animal control officials said they appreciated all the donations they have recently received from the public and commended the work of their sole full-time officer, who "does everything day in and day out."
In light of the department's recent high call and intake rate, animal control officials said they had to make "the hard decision to transfer three of our dogs to other shelters to make sure we had room for the others waiting to come in."

Animal control officials thanked Stratford Animal Control for taking in two of the dogs, Yeti and Sassy, as well as Waterford Animal Control for taking in the third canine, Gabriel.
"As sad as it was to see them go, we took in three more owner surrenders that needed a place to go," animal control officials said on Facebook. "Since [July 1], we are up to 66 animals that have come into our shelter!"
