Body Found In Abandoned Waterbury Building: Police

The circumstances surrounding the untimely death are under investigation, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A man’s body was found in an abandoned building on Cherry Street Sunday evening.

Lt. Ryan Bessette said police were summoned to 215 Cherry St. around 5:13 p.m. Sunday for a report of a deceased male.

The case is currently being investigated as an untimely death.

“At this time, there are no apparent suspicious circumstances,” Bessette said.

The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and confirm the man’s identity.

As of Monday morning, the investigation is ongoing.
