Caller Claimed Bombs Were Placed In Bathrooms Of 2 Naugatuck Stores: UPDATE
Police said the caller told an employee a bomb in a store's bathroom was set to go off in 2 mins, but no bombs were found at either store.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Walmart and Stop and Shop stores in Naugatuck were both briefly evacuated after receiving bomb threats late Monday afternoon, however no bombs were found and business resumed later that evening, according to police.
In a news release Monday night, police said officers were called to a Walmart store on New Haven Road around 3:45 p.m. after a store employee received a bomb threat over the phone.
According to police, the caller told the employee a bomb was located in the store's bathroom and was set to go off in two minutes.

Officers quickly evacuated the store and requested assistance from Connecticut State Police bomb detection K9s, who searched the area but did not locate any bombs or explosive devices, according to police.
The store was cleared and resumed normal business operations around 5 p.m., police said.

While officers were at the Walmart, an employee of a Stop and Shop on Rubber Avenue also reported having just received a bomb threat over the phone. Simultaneously, police dispatch also received another call where a person claimed a bomb was placed in the bathroom at Stop and Shop and they were armed with a firearm, according to police.
Officers evacuated the Stop and Shop and Connecticut State Police bomb detection K9s responded to the store. The store was cleared and resumed normal business operations around 5:45 p.m., police said.
"We would like to thank the Connecticut State Police for their bomb detection K9's and resources," police said in a news release. "Additionally, we would like to thank the Naugatuck Fire Department and Naugatuck Ambulance for their response to this incident."
