Borough Man Accused Of Credit Card Theft: Naugatuck Police

Police said the complaint was made in May but charges were filed earlier this week.

Naugatuck police said they charged Mark Hinman, 28, of 52 Merrimac St. in Oakville, on Oct. 26 for allegedly making fraudulent charges on a credit card he found.

Hinman allegedly made three fraudulent purchases of food and cigarettes on the victim’s credit card without their knowledge or authorization, according to police.

Hinman is charged with theft of credit card, illegal use of credit card, sixth-degree larceny, third-degree identity theft, as well as third-degree forgery.

Police said Hinman was given a court date of Nov. 4 at Waterbury Superior Court and was released on a Promise to Appear.
