Borough of Naugatuck Officials Say They Won't Buy Properties in Front of High School

Homeowners on Rubber Ave. no longer have to worry about selling their house to the district, as plans to do so fall through.

The Naugatuck High School Renovation Committee had considered buying homes between 507 and 533 Rubber Ave, but have since changed their minds because of legal advice that advised them not to go through with the plan, the Republican-American reports.

Homeowners reportedly were seeking too much money for their property, and one homeowner was adamant about not selling their house to the school.

The committee had planned to demolish the houses to make room for more parking and to give a better view of Naugatuck High School, which is undergoing a massive $81 million renovate-to-new project, according to the Rep-Am.
