Dog Found With 'Several Lacerations' In Naugatuck Parking Lot: Animal Control

Naugatuck Animal Control is seeking the owner of a dog found with "several lacerations" in a Walmart parking lot.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Animal Control is seeking the owner of a dog found earlier this month in a Walmart parking lot with "several lacerations."

In a news release, animal control said they received the dog Aug. 1 around 11:30 p.m. after the animal was found in the store's parking area.

According to animal control, the 10-pound female white Maltese "appeared matted and had several lacerations on her body."

The dog was taken to a veterinary hospital, where she received a physical examination, minor surgery and staples for open wounds, according to animal control.

The dog's owner has not been identified or located as of Wednesday, and Animal Control is requesting anyone with any information to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5222, or email NaugatuckAnimalControl@gmail.com. Calls and emails will be kept confidential.

Animal Control also noted the dog is currently not available for adoption.
