Good Samaritan Makes A Difference In Borough Fire
A quick-thinking resident put out small porch fire before firefighters arrived.

Felix Rolon, of 74 Sheffield Lane, said he noticed ‘popping sounds’ coming from his neighbor’s house 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. After checking on it, he noticed flames on his neighbor’s porch and called 911 right away, the Republican-American reports.
He then grabbed a garden hose and had the fire extinguished before firefighters arrived. The house sustained only minor damage, and a fire official said the origin of the fire was accidental.
The full report and a photo of the fire damage by the Republican-American can be accessed here.
