Man Killed After Falling From Overpass, Hit By 2 Cars On Rt. 8 In Naugatuck: PD
The identity of the deceased has been released by state police on Sunday morning.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A 24-year-old Prospect man died after falling from the Route 8 overpass onto the highway, and he was struck by two cars late Saturday, state police said.
At 8:34 p.m. troopers responded to Route 8 southbound between Exits 29 and 28 in Naugatuck for reports of a body in the roadway, state police said.
A man was found in the right lane with injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle, state police said.

State police said they learned from the Naugatuck Police Department that the victim was involved in a previous collision on the Prospect Street overpass.
"For unknown reasons, the victim fell from the overpass onto the Route 8 southbound lanes of travel where he was struck by Vehicle #1 and Vehicle #2," state police said in its accident summary.

Anthony Meier, 24, of Prospect, was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. No other injuries were reported.
Naugatuck police said officers responded to a 2-car head-on motor vehicle crash at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Prospect Street.
"Witness reports informed one of the operators fled the scene and was struck on Route 8 after jumping from the Prospect St Bridge," Naugatuck police said in a news release.
