Naugatuck FD Warns Residents Of Recent Scam Calls Asking For Money
The Naugatuck Fire Department is warning residents to aware of scammers asking for donations for the department this holiday season.
NAUGATUCK, CT — The Naugatuck Fire Department is warning residents to be on the lookout for scammers asking for donations for the department this holiday season.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, fire officials said scammers have recently been calling residents asking for donations for the department or for the Naugatuck Firefighters Local 1219 fire union.
"The Naugatuck Fire Department and Naugatuck Firefighters Local 1219 are not soliciting funds," fire officials said on Facebook. "This is a scam."

A number of scams targeting residents have been reported across Connecticut thus far this holiday season, many of which have similarly occurred over the phone, according to local emergency officials.
