Naugatuck First Responders Participate In 'Hoops For Hunger' Game

Naugatuck police took home the gold for the second year in a row in the second annual "Hoops for Hunger" basketball game.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck police took home the gold for the second year in a row in the second annual "Hoops for Hunger" basketball game Saturday against the Naugatuck Fire Department.

According to a news release provided by police, Naugatuck first responders joined forces to participate in this weekend's game and raised over $400 for the Ecumenical Food Bank on Spring Street.

The final score of Saturday's game was 42 to 23.

"Naugatuck police and Naugatuck fire have participated in several sports activities that have gathered the community together in friendly competition throughout the years, including this basketball game and a softball game in the fall," police said in a news release.
