Naugatuck Man Punched and Kicked Resident, and Kicked Police Officer: Police
Police say the incident occurred after concerned residents yelled at him to slow down his vehicle.

Naugatuck police say they responded to 150 Ward St. at 6:18 p.m. Monday on reports of an assault. Before their arrival the accused drove away, but was located in the Elm Street area where officers attempted to stop the vehicle.
Barry Albaugh, 40, of 81 Golden Hill St., stopped on Golden Hill Street and continued on foot when he was stopped from entering a house by police and allegedly kicked one of the responding police officers, police said.
Police said they then took the accused into custody and spoke to the residents on Ward Street. The complaintants accused Albaugh of allegedly traveling on Ward Street at a high rate of speed because multiple neighbors yelled at him to slow down, police said.

As a result, Albaugh allegedly stopped his vehicle and ran after the victim, proceeding to allegedly punch and kick the victim, police said.
Albaugh allegedly threatened the victim upon walking back to his vehicle saying he had a gun and was retrieving it, according to police.

Albaugh is facing many charges, both civil and vehicular, including: breach of peace, third-degree assault, threatening, risk of injury to a child, interfering with an officer, assault of emergency personnel, stop sign violation, disobeying signals from an officer, making an improper turn, failure to drive in the proper lane, and failure to obey control signal.
Albaugh was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and was given a court date of Oct. 27 at Waterbury Superior Court.
