Naugatuck Man Accused of Stealing Checks and Withdrawing Over $4K

He is accused of stealing a family member's checks and then withdrawing from their account.

Naugatuck police said a local man was arrested for stealing checks and withdrawing money using the stolen checks.

Douglas Humphries, 37, of Hill Street, was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued Oct. 9, 2014, police said.

He is accused of stealing checks from a family member and cashing multiple checks that equated to a total value of $4,680, police said.

Humphries is charged with third-degree forgery and third-degree larceny, police said.

He was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court June 18 and was held on a $50,000 surety bond, police said.
