Naugatuck Resident Runs for Burgess

Retired construction project manager and Naugatuck resident runs for burgess as an unaffiliated candidate.

Retired construction project manager, Emidio Cerasale, 70, of Naugatuck, is petitioned onto the November ballot to run for burgess as an unaffiliated candidate, according to the Republican-American.

Cerasale said he will challenge the system and is working for the people, not for a party, group or individual, the Rep-Am reported.

Alex Oblrys, first-burgess and mayoral candidate, recently advocated Cerasale’s idea that the annual budget should be automatically sent to referendum, surpassing the referendum regulations currently in place, at Tuesday’s municipal meeting. Both agreed the process of requesting referendum takes too long.
