New School Psychologists Announced For 2 Naugatuck Schools

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Public Schools announced earlier this month the hiring of two new school psychologists at City Hill Middle School and Salem Elementary School.

In a Facebook post, the school district announced Zyria Newman has joined the staff at City Hill, while Michael Shashaty has joined the Salem Elementary community.

According to the district, Shashaty is a graduate of the Naugatuck High School Class of 2010.

The district also noted as a "fun fact" that Newman's favorite singer is Adele.

"Thank you Zyria and Michael," district officials wrote on Facebook, "as well as all of our support staff district wide who work tirelessly every day to make sure our students have the best resources for their mental health!"
