New Teachers Announced For 2 Naugatuck Elementary Schools

Naugatuck Public Schools has announced the hiring of new teachers at two elementary schools in town.

NAUGATUCK, CT — With the new school year underway, Naugatuck Public Schools has announced the hiring of new teachers at two elementary schools in town.

In a Facebook post, the school district announced Nicole Portalatin has joined the staff at Maple Hill Elementary School as a fourth grade teacher.

According to the district, Portalatin is also an eight-time flag football champion.

In a separate announcement, NPS officials announced Cassie Ortiz has joined the staff at Hop Brook Elementary School, where she will teach special education.

The district also noted Ortiz is a past Paraeducator of the Year award winner.
