Nonprofits Needed For Naugatuck Duck Day

The town's looking for nonprofits to sell tickets for Duck Day.

NAUGATUCK--Calling all Naugatuck nonprofits.

The Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce is looking for local nonprofits to help sell tickets for the 11th Annual Naugatuck Duck Day and Race, The Republican-American reports.

The June 5 event, which takes place in downtown Naugatuck, draws a large crowd and the chamber needs nonprofits to sell tickets. The nonprofits also make money for their organizations by taking part in the ticket sales, according to the newspaper.

Tickets are $5 and the nonprofits make $2.50 per ticket sold, according to The Republican-American.

The event features a rubber duck "race" with prizes awarded, including a $5,000 first prize.

Last year's event drew about 5,000 attendees and 70 nonprofits took part in the ticket sales, the paper reports.
