Two married children and five grandchildren. Three of my five grands attend school in Naugatuck.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

No.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:

No.

Why are you seeking this office?

I'd like to promote improvement in the education our children are receiving while recognizing that teachers deserve respect and recognition for the hard work they are doing. I also have a sense of responsibility to tax payers. Improvement in education does not always mean buying the next best curriculum. I'd also like to encourage parents to have more of a voice in their child's education and be more involved with their child's learning. A parent/teacher partnership would be ideal.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is not having their taxes increase and I intend to make sure the taxes they are already paying are being spent wisely in the education department.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

The major difference is that I was a public school teacher for over 34 years. I have experience at the elementary level, middle school, and also in adult education. I know the difficulties teachers and parents face in our society today with so many children not wanting to read but rather spend hours playing games on devices.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

To treat others as you yourself would want to be treated.
