WATCH: Man In Stolen Box Truck Leads Police In Pursuit
The truck struck a state police cruiser and parked cars during the April incident, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — Police have identified a man accused of stealing a box truck Wednesday and then hitting a state police cruiser and parked cars while trying to flee.
Dante Walton, 29, of Waterbury, is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, assault on a police officer, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, interfering with police, and first-degree criminal trover.
Police received a complaint Wednesday around 11:46 a.m. of a box truck stolen from 115 South Main St. The truck is registered to a contractor who had been performing work at that location, according to police spokesman Lt. Ryan Bessette.

Police located the truck near 1200 Watertown Ave. and attempted to stop it.
According to police, Walton refused to stop, and struck a state police cruiser which was assisting in the pursuit. Police said Walton also struck a Waterbury police SUV and several parked vehicles before finally coming to a stop.

Walton then attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended, according to police.
A Waterbury police officer inside the SUV, an occupant of one of the parked vehicles, and Walton all sustained minor injuries in the incident, police said.
The Connecticut State Police is leading the investigation.
Walton was held overnight on $100,000 bond, and he is due to be arraigned in Superior Court in Waterbury today.
