Police: Naugatuck Man Stole Cash From Woman at Derby Courthouse

Police said the man was a former judicial marshal.

Police arrested Michael Healy, 56, a Naugatuck resident, and former judicial marshal, who is accused of stealing money from the purse of a 72-year-old woman at Superior Court, Derby, according to the Republican-American.

Healy is charged with sixth-degree larceny, the Rep-Am reported. The woman, who worked in the court’s maintenance department, claimed $70 was missing from her purse after she left it unattended to change a light bulb and install a picture.

Healy later admitted to police that he had stolen the cash, the paper reports.
