Update at 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 14: The parent of a Newtown student called Patch to say that she received a call from the district stating that all schools are on lockdown. The original report follows: State police are responding to a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Naugatuck native Dawn (Lafferty) Hochsprung is the principal of the school.  According to the <a href="http://www.courant.com/news/breaking/hc-police-responding-to-incident-in-newtown-20121214,0,3969911.story" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Courant,</a> police are responding to an unclear number of injuries and surrounding towns are being asked to respond.
