Water Gun Toy Leads To Waterbury School Lockdown: PD

Police received a report of a possible firearm at the school early Thursday morning, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A report of a student in possession of what appeared to be a firearm led to a school lockdown Thursday morning, according to police.

Officers rushed to the Waterbury Arts Magnet School and determined the item was a water gun, not a real weapon, police said, in a Facebook post about the incident.

Police received the report around 7:16 a.m., and the school was briefly placed in lockdown as a precautionary measure.
