Waterbury Cops ID Homicide Victim As City Resident

The victim was fatally stabbed Saturday night, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — Police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing on Saturday as a city man.

The homicide victim was Samuel Lopez, 47, of Waterbury, police Lt. Ryan Bessette said Monday.

The attack happened Saturday around 9:35 p.m. in the area of 69 Washington St., police said.

Responding officers found Lopez outside and suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died, according to police.

A second adult male victim discovered at the scene had suffered a serious facial laceration and a minor cut. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
