Waterbury Woman Killed In Domestic Dispute: PD
Police have arrested a city man for the 39-year-old woman's slaying, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A 39-year-old woman was fatally stabbed Tuesday in a domestic dispute in Waterbury, according to police.
Police were summoned to Lounsbury Avenue Tuesday around 12:11 p.m. and found a female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The woman, Yomayra Vargas-Martinez, was transported to a local hospital, where she died due to her injuries.

Police have charged Julio Araud-Figueroa, 39, with murder.
Police said Araud-Figueroa had been in a relationship with the victim, and they lived at 70 Lounsbury St., apartment 2.

An investigation determined Araud-Figueroa stabbed Vargas-Martinez multiple times during an argument, police said.
The couple’s 19-year-old daughter was there and attempted to intervene to break up the altercation, police said. The victim fled the residence and sought help at 69 Lounsbury St., a convenience store across the street. The 19-year-old was not harmed.
Araud-Figueroa was arrested at his residence and held overnight on a $3 million bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Superior Court.
