WCSU to Celebrate Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 18; Public Invited

DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University will host Homecoming 2025 for alumni of all ages, families, friends, and current students, on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Class year and program reunions, activities, entertainment and athletic events are planned for the day. There also will be tailgating spots available for reservation.

The Alumni Pavilion’s Reunion City will serve as reunion central for several special reunions, including the 50th Reunion for the Class of 1975; decades reunions for the Classes of ’65, ’85, ’95, ’05, ’15 and ’25; and the Kathwari Honors Program. A free reunion brunch for everyone will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in the President’s Reception Room 218 in the Westside Classroom Building. The Campus Bookstore will be open to sell Wolves merchandise from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westside Athletic Complex. At 11 a.m., the Athletic Complex Box Office will open for football game pre-sales. The stadium gates will open at noon and the game against Lycoming College will begin with kickoff at 1 p.m. The game will be livestreamed under the Alumni Pavilion.

The Tailgating Area will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Prices vary for a single space or for a premium space, and pedestrians are free. Tailgating spaces must be reserved in advance at https://wcsutickets.ticketspice.com/2025-wcsu-homecoming-parking-reservation.

In addition to the Homecoming Football game versus Lycoming College at 1 p.m. in the Westside Athletic Complex, WestConn Women’s Volleyball will face UMASS Boston at noon in the Feldman Arena of the O’Neill Center, and WestConn Women’s Tennis will face UMASS Dartmouth at 1 p.m. at the Westside Courts. The public is invited to attend; tickets for the football game will be for sale at the stadium.

Attractions at the Alumni Pavilion and Reunion City will include photo ops with Wally the Wolf mascot and a DJ at 2 p.m.; a street fair, and a children’s craft station featuring tie dye and pumpkin painting, from 3 to 6 p.m.

There will be food trucks from 2 to 6 p.m. that will feature El Taco Loco, Sweet Ride Ice Cream, Smash Burger, and Munchies (halal options).

After the game, there will be a Pig Roast featuring BBQ chicken, baked beans, mac ’n cheese, and more, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. A Pop Rock Ensemble performance will follow from 6 to 7 p.m.

Closing out the day’s events will be a performance of “American Psycho, The Musical” by WestRep Stage at WCSU at 8 p.m. in the MainStage Theatre of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the Westside campus.
