New Canaan Students Attend 'Girl Original' Leadership Summit
LiveGirl, a nonprofit organization, hosted a leadership summer for middle school girls from throughout Fairfield County.

From LiveGirl: LiveGirl hosted a “Girl Original” leadership summit at Stepping Stones Museum on Friday, May 19th that brought together 75 middle school girls from across Fairfield County. “At LiveGirl, we encourage girls to take risks, be curious, and embrace their originality,” stated LiveGirl Founder Sheri West. “This summit was a celebration of those values.”
The keynote speaker was Tanisha Akinloye, TEDx motivational speaker and CEO of Empowering Through Beauty. Akinloye urged, “Realize your inner beauty that comes from being kind to others.” The girls also enjoyed dinner, poetry, and team-building games in the Stepping Stones Museum.
LiveGirl is a nonprofit organization that provides year-round leadership development and mentoring for middle school girls in Fairfield County, including after school mentoring, leadership summits, and summer camp.
