A 20-year-old Wilton man was issued an infraction for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after he told police he had a small amount of marijuana stashed in a secret compartment in his hat.
According to police, an officer patrolling Waveny Park on Nov. 30 at 8:29 p.m. was near the carriage barn when he observed two white males walking in his direction. The park is off limits after dark, and when the officer approached the males, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from them.
Benjamin Tice told officers he had marijuana, and because it was stored in his hat, officers said his hat was deemed to be drug paraphernalia.
