Three New Canaan Teens Found with Marijuana

On Friday, Nov. 23 at 1:35 p.m., an officer on patrol saw four teens standing beside a Jeep Cherokee parked in a cul-de-sac on Llewellyn Drive, near Carriage Lane. As the officer approached, the four males got into the Jeep.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Upon investigation, the driver of the vehicle said none of the marijuana was his. Two of the passengers were charged, while charges for a 17-year-old juvenile are pending, police said.

Michael Powell, 18, of West Road was issued his second infraction for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana. Paul Saitta, 18, of Bridal Path Lane was issued an infraction for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a grinder with marijuana residue in it. The 17-year-old will be charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

David White, 19, of Stamford was issued an infraction for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Locust Avenue, near Cherry Street, on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 9:34 p.m.

According to police, officers stopped a vehicle White was a passenger in because it had defective brake lights. Rocky, the town’s K9, indicated the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. White turned over to police a small pill bottle with marijuana in it.
