Wife Charged with Four Counts of Violating Protective Order

A 48-year-old New Canaan woman was charged with four counts of criminal violation of a protective order and one count of criminal mischief in the third degree after she allegedly sent her husband several text messages, called him multiple times, left voice mails and sent emails last month, despite being ordered by the courts not to do so. She also broke a pair of her husband’s glasses during a dispute.

The woman turned herself in on a warrant on Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. and was scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 14 after she posted $1,000 bond.

Christopher Pinto, 41, of Stamford turned himself in after learning there was a warrant for his arrest after he allegedly defrauded a Charter Oak Drive resident out of $3,000 in May of this year.

According to police, the 54-year-old New Canaan resident paid Pinto to do some pool restoration work at his home. The check was cashed, but the work was never performed. Pinto was employed by Clearwater Pool Service, which had serviced the man’s pool before.

Pinto was charged with larceny in the third degree. He was held on $3,000 bond and given a Nov. 27 court date.
