New Haven United Illuminating Schedule Service Outage

From United Illuminating: United Illuminating has scheduled a service outage that will affect approximately 600 customers in New Haven’s East Rock and Fair Haven neighborhoods during the early-morning hours of Saturday, December 17.

This temporary service outage is part of an electric system upgrade that will help UI continue to meet customers’ high standards for reliability in the future.

The outage is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. and to end by 9 a.m. Customers on portions of the following streets will be affected: Bradley Street, Clark Street, East Street, Eld Street, Humphrey Street, Mill River Street, New Street, Orange Street, Pleasant Street, State Street and Walnut Street.

UI has notified customers who will be affected via mail and other means. Customers with questions — including those with medical conditions or generators — can call UI’s Scheduled Outage Hotline at 877-491-9533. Callers will be prompted to enter the Outage Identification Number, which can be found in the letter mailed to customers affected by these planned outages.

In the event of severe weather, the outage may be rescheduled to Sunday, Dec. 18, at the same time. UI’s Scheduled Outage Hotline will reflect any schedule change.
