Fallen Newington PD Officer To Be Honored At Annual Motorcycle Ride
The ride will go through Newington, Berlin, Rocky Hill, Cromwell, Middletown, Portland, Glastonbury and Wethersfield.

NEWINGTON, CT — The 19th annual Master Police Officer Peter J. Lavery Memorial Motorcycle Run will be Sunday, Sept. 17, rain or shine.
This ride is in memory of Lavery, a Newington officer and avid motorcyclist who was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 30, 2004, while responding to a domestic violence call.

The event will be a police-escorted 35-mile leisurely motorcycle ride through several central Connecticut towns.
All friends and supporters of law enforcement on all makes of bikes are welcome.

Registration will be from 8 to 9:45 a.m. at Churchill Park, 1991 Main St., Newington. A $20 donation per motorcycle is requested.
The ride will start at 10 a.m. and end at approximately 11:15 a.m. at Churchill Park with food
supplied by Stew Leonard’s.
The ride begins at Churchill Park and will travel south on Main Street, south on Route 5 into Berlin, left (east) on Route 160 into Rocky Hill, right (south) on Route 3 into Cromwell, left (east) on Route 372, right (south) on Route 9 into Middletown, right (west) on St. John’s Square (Route 17), right (north) on North Main Street over the Arrigoni Bridge into Portland, Route 17 north into Glastonbury, right (east) on Chestnut Hill Road, left (north) on New London Turnpike, straight across Main Street onto Naubuc Avenue, right (east) on Putnam Boulevard, right onto Route 3 west into Wethersfield, right (west) on Route 287 into Newington, left (south) on Route 5, north on Main St. to Churchill Park.
