NEWINGTON, CT — A fledgling Connecticut-based hot chicken chain will soon call Newington home, as "Haven Hot Chicken" Thursday announced its planned seventh store in the state.

Haven Hot Chicken, which brings Nashville hot chicken and “Not Chicken” to the area as one of the first fully dedicated Nashville Hot Chicken concepts in New England, said the new Newington store will be opening early 2024.

It will be at 12 Fenn Road and it will feature a 1,200-square-foot location and feature an array of quick-service chicken options ranging from tenders to sandwiches, with varying levels of spiciness, as well as a plethora of sides.

He said the site will feature limited seating for in-house dining, so the eatery will continue to lean into its model recognizing the importance of curbside takeout and UberEats delivery.

Haven said it will also do work for the local community.

The new location will participate in the brand’s long-term partnership with Connecticut Foodshare, raising funds to help curb food insecurity
