Man, 54, Accused Of Operating Drug Distribution Ring: Newington PD

He was taken into police custody Friday as part of an operation at a Newington motel.

NEWINGTON, CT — A 54-year-old suspect has been accused by Newington police of operating a drug-distribution operation in town.

According to the Newington Police Department Friday afternoon, Joseph Finner Pouncey, 54, was charged with operation of a drug factory; two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; failure to keep narcotics in original containers; two counts of illegal sale of prescription drugs; and two counts of illegal possession of prescription drugs.

Police said Pouncey was released from custody after posting a $100,000.00 bond and he will be arraigned in New Britain Superior Court Nov. 29.

According to police, the charges stem from a Newington Police Department court-authorized operation at the Grantmoor Motor Lodge, 3000 Berlin Turnpike, on Friday, Nov. 15.

"The Newington operation uncovered evidence that Pouncey was involved in illegal drug
transactions and was in possession of controlled substances including cocaine," wrote the NPD.
