Man Attempts To Rob Newington Wendy's Overnight: Police
A man reportedly entered the restaurant, brandished "what was described as a machete," and demanded money, Newington Police said.

NEWINGTON, CT — A man carrying what was likely a machete attempted to rob the Newington Wendy's overnight Friday, police said.
Newington police responded to a reported armed robbery at the restaurant, located at 2384 Berlin Tpke., at around 1:15 a.m. Friday.
Officers were told a man entered the restaurant — which was closed at the time — through an unlocked door, then confronted employees while "brandishing what was described as a machete," police said.

The man demanded money, police said, though an employee convinced him it was all locked up and they didn't have access to any.
At that point, he took a cellphone from one of the employees and exited the restaurant, fleeing in a dark-colored vehicle, police said.
