National Fast-Casual Chain Opens Newington Restaurant

The company has two other locations in Connecticut, one in Westport and one in Greenwich.

NEWINGTON, CT — A new fast-casual eatery specializing in Mediterranean cuisine opened for business Friday in Newington.

Located at 3323 Berlin Turnpike, Unit 4, Newington, CAVA specializes in Mediterranean-inspired bowls, pitas, dips, and dressings, with various types of steak, lamb and chicken dishes.

“Our mission is to bring heart, health, and humanity to food, and everything we do at CAVA is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members, and our community,” said Wade Sterns, senior vice president of operations. “We couldn’t be more excited to be in Newington.”

CAVA is a national chain with eateries in 26 states and the District of Columbia. In addition to Newington, CAVA eateries are also located in Greenwich and Westport.

Before the doors open, every CAVA restaurant invites new neighbors for a free meal, accepts donations to support a local cause, and matches those donations up to $1,000.

CAVA’s Newington Community Day event raised funds for Food Rescue US, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating hunger and food waste.

Prior to the grand opening, CAVA also partnered with Food Rescue US to donate hundreds of fresh meals prepared throughout the restaurant’s training period to local community members.

CAVA’s new Newington restaurant employs 30-35 local people.
