Newington Bar/Restaurant Fined, Suspended: State
The state has fined the popular eatery for violation of state statutes.
NEWINGTON, CT — A local bar/restaurant will have its liquor license suspended for a day later this month after it paid a fine to the state for violating rules about brawls/disturbances on site.
The Bar & Grill, located at 512 Cedar St., Newington, has already paid a $2,500 fine to the state Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Division.
In addition, the business' liquor permit will be suspended on Tuesday, Sept. 26, for violation of the state statute regarding the "conduct of permit premises."

Specifically, the regulation violated deals with brawls and disturbances on site.

"(a) No disturbances, brawls, unlawful conduct or gambling of any kind except where provided by the general statutes, and no slot machines or gambling devices which may be used for the purpose of securing money or any other valuable things, shall be permitted or suffered upon any permit premises, nor shall such premises be conducted in such a manner as to constitute a nuisance."
