Newington Drug Dealer Caught In West Hartford Sentenced: Feds
The 30-year-old male was sentenced in New Haven federal court on Wednesday.
NEWINGTON/WEST HARTFORD, CT — A Newington drug dealer who was caught in West Hartford will spend time behind bars after being sentenced in federal court Wednesday on a fentanyl distribution conviction.
David X. Sullivan, U.S. attorney for Connecticut, said Martin Delgado, 30, of Newington, was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in New Haven to six years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release, for distributing narcotics.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on May 13, 2024, members of the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force conducted a court-authorized search of Delgado’s residence on Main Street in Newington.

Sullivan said they seized approximately 2,500 wax paper sleeves containing fentanyl, approximately 160 grams of loose fentanyl, approximately 21 grams of cocaine, narcotics packaging materials, and a loaded 9mm gun magazine.
Delgado, who fled on foot when officers arrived at his residence, was apprehended a short time later in West Hartford, Sullivan said.

Investigators also located and seized a loaded 9mm handgun near Delgado’s residence that he discarded as he fled, and additional quantities of fentanyl and cocaine from Delgado’s vehicle, he said.
The firearm had been reported stolen in 2019.
Delgado was charged with state offenses and released on bond.
Delgado has been detained since his federal arrest on Aug. 2, 2024. On Feb. 11, he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and a quantity of cocaine.
