Newington Officer Hurt After Being Hit By Vehicle At Chick-fil-A: NPD
Police said the suspect had repeatedly ignored attempts to pull them over several days, resulting in Wednesday night's incident.
NEWINGTON, CT — A local police officer was injured after he was struck by a fleeing vehicle at the Newington Chick-fil-A fast food restaurant Wednesday night.
According to the Newington Police Department, at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, officers noticed a vehicle that had been failing to stop for officers multiple times over several days.
Police said the vehicle then entered the drive-through of the Chick-fil-A restaurant at 3240 Berlin Turnpike in Newington.

"While Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the drive-through, the vehicle intentionally drove towards a Newington police officer and struck the officer with the vehicle before fleeing the scene," wrote the NPD.
Luckily, police said, the officer sustained minor injuries.
