Newington PD Charges South Windsor Teen After Dec. 23 Chase: NPD
The 18-year-old suspect was wanted on an arrest warrant and engaged police in pursuit with a juvenile inside the vehicle, police said.
NEWINGTON/SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A young South Windsor man has been charged by Newington police after police said he engaged them in pursuit with a juvenile in the vehicle.
According to the Newington Police Department, Brian Msztal, 18, of South Windsor, was charged Thursday, Jan. 2, with two counts of violating a protective order; risk of injury to a child; first-degree reckless endangerment; interfering with a police officer; reckless driving; and failure to obey a stop sign.
Misztal was detained on a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Friday, Jan. 3, Newington police said.

According to the NPD, Newington officers with the assistance of South Windsor police took Misztal into custody on Thursday as he was wanted on an active domestic arrest warrant.
The warrant stems from an incident Dec. 23 in the Town of Newington, police said.

Newington police officers attempted to stop a vehicle Misztal was operating but Misztal refused
to stop, police said.
After an investigation, it was determined a juvenile was in the vehicle when Misztal
attempted to engage police in a pursuit, according to the NPD.
Misztal was also violating two protective orders at the time, according to the NPD.
