A birthday photo booth and coordinating dessert bar was set up along with custom “Juliana-themed” decks of playing cards shared as favors in honor of one of Hanks’s favorite hobbies.

Hanks, whose family is originally from Poland, has resided at Middlewoods for the past three years and was a former resident of Hartford before making Newington her home in 1970.

She raised two sons, Michael and Steven (both who have passed away) and has two grandchildren, Steven and Shana.

Her family shared how she loves to play cards, have her hair done and how, in her ninth decade, she realized how amazing guacamole can be.

“It was a beautiful celebration,” said Middlewoods Executive Director Lori Pisani. “Having Juliana’s family here to celebrate with us was perfect and everyone at Middlewoods enjoyed the many special touches that were added to the day. We’re so thankful to have so many wonderful families sharing moments like these at our community.”
