Newington Senior Housing Complex Hires Southington Woman As Director

She said she looks forward to the opportunity to work with residents, family members and staff.

NEWINGTON, CT – A local senior housing complex announced Monday it has a new leader.

The Middlewoods of Newington senior living community Monday announced its new executive director, Lori Pisani of Southington, who recently joined the Middlewoods team earlier this year.

Pisani brings with her 34 years of health care experience working as a caregiver, activities director, community outreach director, performance improvement facilitator and in a variety of senior leadership roles with United Methodist Homes, the not-for-profit organization which manages the community.

Prior to her position in Newington, Pisani worked as executive director and vice president of assisted living for United Methodist’s Homes’ Shelton-based community, Crosby Commons and its surrounding campus, Wesley Village.

Pisani said she looks forward to the opportunity to work with residents, family members, and team members at Middlewoods.

“It’s truly a gift to be welcomed into this community,” said Pisani. “When you walk through the front doors of Middlewoods of Newington, you can instantly feel the love and hospitality for and from the residents.

"I’m excited to work with all our residents, families and friends and am delighted to be partnering with the talented Middlewoods team, whose compassion and commitment to outstanding resident care and service is commendable.”

Middlewoods of Newington Independent and Assisted Living Community is affiliated with UConn Health and located at 2125 Main St. in Newington.

It is owned and operated by United Methodist Homes, a not-for-profit, mission-based organization in Shelton.

Individuals interested in learning more about senior living options at Middlewoods of Newington can meet Pisani and tour the community at upcoming “Walk-In Wednesdays” open house events scheduled for every Wednesday in April from 4 to 6 p.m. To RSVP, contact the community at 860-667-1336.
