CT Authors Lecture Series Kicks off Wednesday at Lyman Allyn Museum
The six-part program is hosted by the Lyman Allyn Art Museum and the Thames River Heritage Park

(NEW LONDON)- On Wednesday, January 4, the Thames River Heritage Park and the Lyman Allyn Art Museum will kick off the first talk in their six-part lecture series, Stories from the Park: Morton Plant: Gilded Age Gossip, Giving and the (income) Gap. Admission is $15 for LAAM & Thames River Heritage Park members and $20 for the general public.

Local author, award-winning journalist, and UConn professor, Gail MacDonald, will discuss her book on Morton Plant, the larger than life figure whose great wealth shaped our region during the Gilded Age.

A reception will begin at 6:00 PM where guests will have the opportunity to meet the author, purchase books and have them signed. Light hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served. Participants may also attend the lecture virtually via Zoom.
