State Rep. Anthony Nolan is running for reelection in the 39th District.

NEW LONDON, CT — The 2024 election is heating up in Connecticut and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office. Eyes are primarily focused on the presidential election at the top of the ticket, but every state representative and senate seat is up for grabs.

Why are you seeking office?
I am running to continue my mission of serving the community, advocating for policies that enhance housing, public safety, education, and economic opportunities. I want to ensure that the people of New London/State of Connecticut have a strong voice in Hartford, working for their well-being and the betterment of our communities.
What do you believe is the No. 1 issue facing Connecticut, and how do you plan to address it?
Affordability/Economic Growth
Address with possible Tax Reform, industry diversification, reskilled initiatives, affordable housing.
There have been an alarming number of deaths on Connecticut's roadways. Is there anything from a legislative standpoint that can be done to address that?
Possibly implementing a combination of better enforcement, infrastructure improvements, and public education campaigns.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
As an incumbent, I bring years of legislative experience, along with a long career in law enforcement. I have knowledge of the legislative process and a track record of accomplishments, including work on criminal justice reform, education funding, and public safety. My dual role as a state representative and former New London City Council member provides me with both local and state-level governance experience.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Legislative achievements delivering results for constituents with continued work on key issues, such as education, economic development, public safety, environmental protections, and community development.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am deeply committed to the people of New London. I believe that through hard work and collaboration, we can continue to make progress on the issues that matter most. I am here to listen to your concerns and to fight for the future of our community.
