The news of the New London location reopening comes as Denny's has announced it closed 88 locations last year and will shutter up to 90 this year, CNN reported.

Some of the locations selected for closing have expiring leases or are in areas that have become unprofitable. The chain has also struggled in recent years due to inflation and increasing food costs, according to CNN.

Denny's closed its West Haven shop in 2018. A former Denny's in Vernon is being demolished to make way for a coffee business.
