Lane Closures Expected On Gold Star Bridge In New London

Construction taking place over two days will lead to lane and shoulder closures on the I-95 bridge, according to the DOT.

NEW LONDON, CT — There will be construction on the I-95 northbound Gold Star Bridge in Groton and New London on Sunday and Monday, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Drivers can expect left lane and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. State police will be on site during the closures.

"Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions,"
according to the DOT. "Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area."

The work is classified as "geotechnical subsurface investigations" related to the rehabilitation of the bridge.
