Lisa Brownell to Lead Talk in Stories from the Park​ lecture Series

Love and Brutality: The Mysterious Saga of Gallows Road​ will take place on Wednesday, January 25 at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum.

(NEW LONDON)- On Wednesday, January 25 the Thames River Heritage Park and the Lyman Allyn Art Museum will host the second talk in their Stories from the Park lecture series: Love and Brutality: The Mysterious Saga of Gallows Road.

The evening begins with an author reception during which guests may purchase books and have them signed by the author while enjoying light refreshments and good company. Lecture immediately follows. Participants may also attend the lecture virtually via Zoom.

The second talk in the Stories from the Park lecture series will be given by Lisa Brownell, author of the novel "Gallows Road.” Inspired by true events in 1750s New London, Gallows Road is told through the voice of a 17-year-old servant who becomes entangled in the events surrounding an infant's mysterious death. Lisa Brownell is a fiction writer and editor. She is a former media director for Mystic Seaport Museum and director of publications for Connecticut College.
