New London 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places

NEW LONDON, CT — On Nov. 7, New London residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: Mayor, City Council, and Board of Education.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

Mayor

The Democratic and Working Families candidate is Michael E. Passero. The Republican candidate is Beloved Carter. The Green Party candidate is Leon Richard Long.

City Council

For City Council, you'll vote for up to seven people. The Democratic candidates are Carmen Jocelyn Rosario, John D. Satti, Jefferey Hart, Reona Dyess, Akil Peck, Alma Nartatez, and Efrain Dominguez Jr. The Republican candidates are Aaron Ide, John Russell, and Gina Phillips. The Working Families candidates are Jefferey Hart, Reona Dyess, and Alma Nartatez. The Green Party candidate is Seanice Austin.

Board of Education

For Board of Education, you'll vote for up to seven people. The Democratic candidates are Bryan Doughty, Elaine Maynard-Adams, Nathan M. Caron, Susan Hambey, Danni M. Cruz, Bianca Alexis-Sylvain, and Alisha Blake. The Republican candidates are Kat Goulart and John C. Martin Jr. The Working Families Candidates are Elaine Maynard-Adams, Danni M. Cruz, and Alisha Blake. The Green Party candidate is Keith Kimball.
